Caving and potholing

"Eh!? I thought they were both the same? Don't you get stuck and then the roof caves in?"

Caving isn't for everyone but that's only because most people don't know what it's like. There are some fantastic sights underground and in the Yorkshire Dales there are caves to suit everyone. Dry caves and wet caves, passages big enough to drive a car in and belly crawling squeezes.

Strictly speaking caving refers to horizontal caves and potholing refers to vertical. We can take you in either. And you won't get stuck if you listen to our advice......

Caving is suitable for all age groups and abilities.

What do you want to do?

Anyone can go caving, from family days out to underground assault courses for the adventurous.

Are you interested in taking up caving as a sport? We can teach you the basic skills so that you can join a club with confidence or go caving with friends safely.

How about a vertical cave? You'll need to be reasonably active as we'll be abseiling and climbing wire ladders.
